Q: Is the Student Recreation Center open?
A: Yes. The Student Recreation Center on main campus and the Health Science Campus Recreation Center are open with adjusted hours and capacity. Please visit our Hours of Operation page for details.
Q: Do I have to make a reservation to workout?
A: Yes. You must reserve your spot via the CRW Member Portal or the ECU Rec App for your workout. Please see the instructions about how to download the app on the previous page.
Q: How do I cancel my reservation?
A: With limited capacities, we ask if you cannot make your reservation to please cancel it. Click here for a tutorial on making and canceling reservations.
Q: What if I don’t have a reservation?
If you don’t have a reservation, you may still be able to come in if our facility is not at capacity. You can make a reservation right before you arrive.
Q: Can I play basketball?
A: Open recreation basketball and volleyball are not available at this time.
Q: Is the weight room available?
A: Yes. The weight room is open and equipment is spaced out between the weight room and Courts 1 and 2.
Q: Do I need to wear a mask when I workout?
A: Due to NC Executive Order 180, a mask MUST be worn at all times while in all indoor facilities, even while exercising. Mask/face coverings must also be worn at all outdoor facilities when it’s not possible to consistently be distant, by at least 6-ft, from non-household members.
Q: What if I paid for a membership last spring but you closed halfway through the semester?
A: We are extending memberships for all those who purchased them for the amount of time we were closed.
Q: What are the hours of the North Recreational Complex and the Boathouse?
A: Visit our Hours of Operation page. The boathouse will close for the season around October 30, 2020.
Q: Is the climbing wall opened?
A: Yes. The Adventure Center and climbing wall are open with adjusted hours and capacity. Please visit our Hours of Operation page for details.
Q: Is the swimming pool open?
A: Yes. The indoor pool is open with limited hours. The outdoor pool is closed for the season. Please see the Hours of Operations page for details.
Q: Is there going to be towel service?
A: No. At this time we are not offering towel service. We ask that you bring your own towel for the pool and any other needs.
Q: Do I have to have a facility access reservation to participate in the indoor group fitness classes or the climbing wall? What about outdoor group fitness classes?
A: Anytime you make an indoor reservation for another program such as a group fitness class, indoor climbing wall or any other indoor activity, you will need to make both a reservation for that program and facility access.
Q: Are Intramural Sports being played?
A: Intramural Sports are being offered virtually and in-person. Please see the Intramural Sports page for more information.
Q: Are Club Sports able to practice?
A: Club Sports activities are being conducted virtually.
