Hailey Lawson: Employee Spotlight
I started working at CRW in spring 2021, I was a lonely freshman during the height of on-campus COVID regulations and I found myself spending most of my time secluded in my dorm room. I had a friend at the rec center who told me that they were looking for Recreation service attendants and he thought I would be a good fit. I applied, thinking it would be a fun thing to do and I could make a little cash. I had no idea how much this job would truly impact my life. I moved into the role of facility manager in the spring of 2022, and the CRW facility manager team is amazing. They are some of the most wonderful people you will ever meet and many of them have become my nearest and dearest friends. I am currently a senior, majoring in Engineering with a concentration in Mechanical Engineering, and my time at CRW has benefited me in so many professional spheres. I have been able to develop my networking and customer service skills, as well as make meaningful connections with faculty and staff in a variety of fields. In this position, I have been able to observe and assist in campus and community events as well as facilitate well-being in our many recreational spaces. I have developed a firm foundation in understanding my worth as an employee and have learned how to market myself to potential employers post-graduation.
