Become an Instructor

Requirements:

• Current ECU student
• CPR/AED and First-Aid Certification
• Completion of ACE Prep Course or currently hold a GFI certification from AFAA, ACE, or ACSM

ACE Prep Course

Group Fitness Instructor Prep Course

Learn the skills necessary to become a certified group fitness instructor! The American Council on Exercise (ACE) is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCAA) which gives it national recognition. The ACE Group Fitness Instructor curriculum will prepare you to take the exam to obtain your certification. The prep course will cover group fitness fundamentals, preparation for group fitness classes, elements of leading group fitness classes, professional and legal considerations, and anatomy. You will also have access to PowerPoints, practice quizzes, and a certified professional. In addition, you will have the opportunity to receive a discounted price on your exam registration fee.
