Membership Eligibility
Memberships are available for purchase annually, semester, or summer. Faculty and Staff may use payroll deduction to pay for a monthly membership. Memberships include access to the Eakin Student Recreation Center (ESRC), Health Sciences Campus Recreation Center (HSC), North Recreational Complex, and Blount Sports Complex. Additional costs are assessed for specialized fitness programs, adventure leadership trips, and adventure equipment rentals.
Faculty/Staff and Retiree Memberships
- Current and retired faculty and staff must present their ECU 1Card or Retiree 1 Card when purchasing a membership.
- Current faculty and staff are eligible for a 14-day free membership trial.
- Faculty and staff must present their ECU 1Card and proof of residency when sponsoring a household member.
- Household members must also be present with a current picture ID when purchasing a membership and must be 18 years or older.
- Medical residents, retirees, and part-time temporary employees may purchase only a semester or annual faculty/staff membership, they are ineligible for payroll deduction.
- Faculty/staff must be permanent, full-time employees to take advantage of payroll deductions.
- Payroll Deduction memberships MUST be purchased in the Main Office of the Eakin Student Recreation Center during normal business hours, Monday-Friday 9 am-6 pm.
- Members with no ECU 1Card will be given a CRW key tag. The first key tag is free then there will be a $5 charge for any lost/damaged replacements.
- Refunds will not be given for any membership purchased (semester or annual).
- Retirees are categorized as Tier 1 status.
- Any retiree household member will return to regular price and is not eligible for the half-price option.
- Beginning, August 16, 2025, CRW will discontinue the half-off 1st household member.
ECU Young Alumni Membership
- A Young Alumnus is considered to be any person who has graduated from East Carolina University in the past 5 years.
- Young Alumnus must provide a picture ID when purchasing a membership.
- Young Alumnus must be a member to sponsor household members.
- Young Alumnus must be present with their ID for the household members to enroll.
- The first household member will receive the half-off price. Any additional household members will be full alumni price.
- The household member must also be present with a current picture ID and be 18 years or older.
- CRW will verify the eligibility status with ECU.
- Members with no ECU 1Card will be given a CRW key tag. The first key tag is free then there will be a $5 charge for any lost/damaged replacements.
ECU Alumni Memberships
- An Alumnus is considered to be any person who graduated from East Carolina University.

**Members in the Tier 1 pricing category do not qualify for the half-off household memberships.
***The first household member in Tier 2, Young Alumni, and Alumni eligibility qualifies for a half-off discount with a paid full-price membership. Any additional household members will be at the full rate of the Tier 2 category.

Membership Prorate Dates
Memberships will be prorated on the following dates:
- 2024-2025
- Fall Semester: October 14th, 2024
- Spring Semester: March 12th, 2025
- Summer Semester: June 25th, 2025
Membership Cancellation Process
Payroll Deduction and AutoPay memberships are never cancelled until you as the member contact us to cancel your (or your household member’s) membership. Please fill out the Recurring Payment Cancellation Form using the purple link below. Make sure to specify which membership(s) are requested to be cancelled. You may cancel your month, semester, or annual membership at any time however refunds will not be issued. Payroll Deduction memberships must be cancelled by the 2nd and 17th of each month to avoid additional deductions withdrawn from your paycheck. AutoPay memberships must be cancelled by the 17th of each month to avoid additional deductions on your credit card.
