Membership Eligibility
Memberships are available annually, semesterly, or during the summer and can be purchased in the Main Office of the Eakin Student Recreation Center (ESRC). Memberships include access to the ESRC, Health Sciences Campus Recreation Center (HSC), North Recreational Complex, and Blount Sports Complex. Specialized fitness programs, adventure trips and equipment, and locker rentals may incur additional charges.
Faculty/Staff and Medical Resident Memberships
- Must present their ECU 1Card when purchasing a membership.
- Are eligible for a 14-day free membership trial.
- Must be permanent, full-time employees to enroll in a payroll deduction membership.
- Medical residents, part-time, and temporary employees may only purchase a semester or annual faculty/staff membership; they are ineligible for payroll deduction.
- Payroll Deduction memberships MUST be purchased in the Main Office of the Eakin Student Recreation Center during normal business hours, Monday-Friday 9 am-6 pm.
- Faculty/staff do not need to be a current member to sponsor a household member.
- Beginning, August 16, 2025, CRW will discontinue the half-off 1st household member.

ECU Retiree Memberships
- Retirees must present their ECU Retiree 1Card when purchasing a membership.
- Retirees my purchase a semester, annual or Autopay (see Autopay Memberships) Membership.
- Retirees are ineligible for payroll deduction.
- Retirees must be current members to sponsor a household member.

ECU Young Alumni Memberships
- A Young Alumnus are any person who has graduated from East Carolina University in the past 5 years.
- After 5 years, Young Alumni will transition to Alumni status.
- Young Alumnus must provide a picture ID when purchasing a membership.
- Young Alumnus must be a member to sponsor household members.
- CRW will verify the eligibility status with ECU.

ECU Alumni Memberships
- ECU Alumnus are any person who graduated from East Carolina University.
- Alumnus must provide a picture ID with purchasing a membership.
- Alumnus must be a member to sponsor a household member.
- CRW will verify the eligibility status with ECU.

ECU Health Affiliate Memberships
- ECU Health are any person who works for ECU Health.
- Must show an ECU Health badge at the time of membership purchase.
- Must be a CRW to sponsor a household member.
- ECU Health personnel may purchase a semester, annual, or Autopay (see Autopay Memberships) Membership.
- Not eligible for payroll deduction membership.

General Guidelines
- Refunds are not provided for any annual, semester, or summer membership.
- Members given a CRW key tag will be charged $5 for any replacement tag.
- Memberships are prorated halfway through each fall, spring, and summer semester. Below are the upcoming dates:
- Fall Semester: October 14th, 2024
- Spring Semester: March 12th, 2025
- Summer Semester: June 25th, 2025
- Members who pay the Tier 2 and Alumni/Affiliate rate can take advantage of the “Buy One, Get One-Half Price”. Excluding AutoPay Memberships. BOGO applies to 1st Household Members only.
- Promotion expires August 15th, 2025.
- Tier 1, and Retirees are ineligible.
- If you would like to request a refund exception for any membership, please fill out the form below. You will be notified if your request is approved.

Membership Cancellation Process
Payroll Deduction and AutoPay memberships are never cancelled until you as the member contact us to cancel your (or your household member’s) membership. Please fill out the Recurring Payment Cancellation Form using the purple link below. Make sure to specify which membership(s) are requested to be cancelled. You may cancel your month, semester, or annual membership at any time however refunds will not be issued. Payroll Deduction memberships must be cancelled by the 2nd and 17th of each month to avoid additional deductions withdrawn from your paycheck. AutoPay memberships must be cancelled by the 17th of each month to avoid additional deductions on your credit card.
